2015-16 ESAA Transportation Sign-up

 Map2013

Transportation to and from ESAA will be added in the 2015-16 school year. Providing busing will allow students to attend ESAA that may not have been able to in the past. We are asking all families with a child or children attending, or interested in attending, ESAA for the 2015-16 school year to fill out our Transportation Sign-Up Form. Completing this form will help us understand who will be taking the bus and determine needs and routes.

We have developed eligibility guidelines for transportation, using the Sheboygan Area School District guidelines. These state all ESAA students are eligible for bus transportation if:

  1. They reside within the boundaries of the Sheboygan Area School District. If they do not reside within the SASD boundaries, they may use a drop off/pick up location within the district boundaries.

  2. They live more than two miles from ESAA. Students who live within the Pigeon River school  boundaries will follow the Pigeon River bus eligibility.

  3. Students must ride the bus three out of the five days a week on the route they are using — the morning route, afternoon route or both.

In addition to completing the sign-up form, we encourage you to share our exciting transportation news to friends and family that may be interested in attending ESAA next year. We have a few openings at each grade level. Filling our school to capacity will help fund professional residencies and field experiences that deepen learning. Please contact our Enrollment Coordinator, Brittany Hattabaugh, or Dean of School, Susan Griffiths at (920)459-0947 for more information or to set up a tour.

A big thanks to all of ESAA's parents, staff and students for the success of our Bounce Into Spring Fundraiser on Friday. Together we were able to raise just over $3,700 for our school! These funds will be used for school gardens students will be creating this spring. The gardens will function as learning labs where students will observe, research, and discover to learn more about the outdoor environment.

Transportation guidelines developed for the 2015-16 school year

Transportation guidelines developed for the 2015-16 school year Thumbnail

While our move to the current campus in 2013 has brought many positives, the more remote location has made transportation difficult for many families. Offering busing will help ease our current families ability to get their children to school each day. It will also help reach beyond our current families and make ESAA more accessible to all SASD students. It will enable us to offer ESAA as an school option to those who could not consider it it in the past because of transportation issues. Adding transportation is integral to ESAA’s growth.

Expanding Horizons through the Étude Sessions

Expanding Horizons through the Étude Sessions Thumbnail

The Étude Sessions represents a combination of a love for music along and a desire to ensure that programs that enrich student learning are avail able to all. Often we see those opportunities that can truly enrich a child's education available to those who can afford to pay. Additionally, we often see our more affluent schools being able to afford these enriching opportunities. When we started our schools in 2007, our founders made a commitment to ensuring our schools and all of its programming was available to all students, regardless of socio economic background.

February 19th PTO meeting rescheduled for March 19th

February 19th PTO meeting rescheduled for March 19th Thumbnail

Last Thursday we lost Liz Bloise, a long time member of our school community, to cancer. When Liz’s children attended ESAA, she was a strong participant in PTO and our school. She could be seen regularly at meetings and graciously donating her time whenever needed. Liz developed many deep friendships while at ESAA. Liz’s memorial service is being held on Thursday, February 19th. Many of our community members would like to attend. With this in mind, we are rescheduling the February 19th PTO meeting. The new meeting date will be March 19th at 6:30pm. We look forward to seeing everyone on March 19th to discuss transportation and gardening at ESAA.
