ESAA’s new creative movement/dance specialist Anna Brueggeman has an extensive background in dance, including ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, improvisation and choreography.
Ms. Brueggeman joined the Sheboygan Area School District this fall after having taught dance for four years at her alma mater, Milwaukee High School of the Arts, and having directed the dance department and taught English for a year at Gila Ridge High School in Yuma, Arizona.
She holds a bachelor of arts degree in dance and a bachelor of science degree in education (1-8) with a minor in English from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a K-12 dance education certification from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Ms. Brueggeman obtained a master of arts education degree with an emphasis on professional development in dance from Alverno College and will complete a master of fine arts degree in performance dance at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee later this year.
“I have had the pleasure of teaching, choreographing, performing, and directing numerous classes and productions in the Milwaukee area,” said Ms. Brueggeman, who also teaches dance at Alverno College and is a member of the Wisconsin Dance Council and National Dance Education Organization.
She enjoys working at ESAA because the school values and fully incorporates multiple intelligences and the arts.
Traveling is a favorite pastime for Ms. Brueggeman, who would love to see the world. Places she hopes to visit include Peru, China, Croatia, Eastern Europe and Australia.
She also likes to read mystery novels, hike, camp, work in her garden, fix up her house and spend time with family and friends.
